Kundli Matching

Kundli Matching (also kundali milan, "horoscope matching") compares two people's birth charts to see how they meet: where their natures flow together, and where they will need patience and care. It is best known as the check Hindu families make before a marriage, but the same reading serves couples already together, friends, and family.

The traditional core is Guna Milan, a score out of 36 drawn from the two birth nakshatras, read alongside Mangal Dosha, the check on Mars. A fuller reading looks at the whole of both charts: where each person's Moon falls in the other's houses, what each looks for in the 7th house (the house of partnership), how Shukra (Venus) and Mangal (Mars) in one chart meet the other, and the dasha (planetary period) each person is living through now.

A match describes a relationship; it does not decide it. Tradition reads even a low score as a map of what needs attention, not as a verdict on whether two people belong together.
